Bryan Robertson, a born Scot who proudly calls West Hartford and the US home. His career in woodworking began in the Scottish town of Forfar where he grew up. He then was accepted to the prestigious Buckinghamshire New University in London, England to major in furniture design and craftsmanship. He then moved to the Scottish capital of Edinburgh where he worked for Ben Dawson Furniture, a renowned furniture company that famously designed and crafted the lecterns of the Scottish Parliament. Here he traveled throughout the United Kingdom and Europe working on projects for clients such as The BBC and the Royal Bank of Scotland. In 2010, Bryan moved to America with his Farmington born wife to be closer to family.
He began his career in Connecticut with a custom high-end woodworking company, H & B Woodworking. Here, he learned directly under Lydia Witik, an interior designer, cabinet maker and furniture designer who has serviced CT for over 40 years. It was here that he worked in some of the finest homes in CT, New York and Massachusetts. Over the years, Bryan made many connections in the CT construction and design market, which is how he joined forces with Heartwood. The rest is history.
