Jeff grew up on Cape Cod where he graduated from Cape Cod Technical High School, carpentry dept. From there he went on to Boston where he attend North Bennet Street School, studying preservation carpentry. At NBSS, he learned the time-honored skills and value of fine craftsmanship.
The two-year program combines an introduction to contemporary residential construction with a foundation in pre-20th century New England home construction. He learned broad range of construction methods, including stabilizing endangered buildings, preserving architectural details, and recreating historical design elements.
With a passion for traditional New England buildings, he moved to Nantucket Island where he lived and worked for 16 years. Honing his skills ever further from working with some of the islands best old school carpenters. In 1999, Jeff started his own building company on Nantucket, then soon after, took on a business partner. Over next 10 years they specialized in historic restoration and renovation, working on homes built as early as 1720.
Jeff is a proud tradition carpenter, and a strong believer in doing things correctly. Years of experience has taught him to think outside of the box, and to work as a team. Renovating a beautiful home takes many people, and the final product should be perfect.
He now lives and works in Central Connecticut and is a proud member of the Heartwood Renovation team.
